Global freezing due to global warming

A Chinese scientist is quoted explaining that the big chill across the northern hemisphere is due to disturbances caused by warming.  Or possibly the opposite is true.  Here we shall be skating on the pond soon, observing Dutch protocols for the protection of our ice.
